Opossum Skull Pendant

Didelphis virginiana - Opossums are best known for "playing possum" when threatened. This is an involuntary response where the creature will feign the appearance of death. Upon birth, these marsupials immediately crawl into their mother's pouch to continue developing. As they grow, they will go in and out of the pouch and will often ride on the mother's back as she hunts for food.

This piece features a hinged jaw.
